VoipBuster, Free calls!

Recently, I’ve needed to make quite a few long distance calls. This is very expensive for me, since I only have access to my cell phone. The land phone I have access to cannot make any long distance calls, so I needed a cheap way to make these calls or better yet free. Then a colleague of mine told me about VoipBuster.

VoipBuster is a simple Voip client like Skype. It has all the features of most Voip applications out there like PC-to-PC, outbound calls…and so on. But there are 3 main things that drew me to it.

  1. It is free, with to ads, spam or intrusive elements
  2. The quality is impressive for a free application
  3. It has a feature called “DirectCall” which lets you link two land line phones together

Going back to my previous example, the land phone I needed to use could not make long distance calls. Using VoipBuster, I can dial the number of that land line and the receiver I want to call. VoipBuster dials the land line first, it rings and I can pick it up. VoipBuster then dials the receiver end and links that call to the land line I am using. Now, I can use my actual land line (which is long-distance disabled) as an actual phone to talk to the receiver on the other end.
