Some of you might remember the Million Dollar Homepage by Alex Tew, who was selling Ad space measured in pixels on his site. Well, back then the idea still sounded stupid. But like it or not, the guy made his $1 Million dollars.

When I went on TechCrunch this morning, I hear the guy is back at it again, this time upping the ante to $2 per pixel instead of the original $1 for the new site Pixelotto. Bare in mind, there have been so many rip-offs since the original which totally flopped. Even I wanted to create my own clone, but stuck to my feelings that the idea is pretty lame. But seeing how the dude already sold $20,000 worth of space before the site has even launched, I am sick to my stomach.

I am not mad at the guy, he is smart. He started this whole thing to begin with, so naturally he will get more media coverage than those trying to get in on it. As lame as the idea looks, I think this thing will fly the second time around.

Next on my agenda….anyone wants to buy blog space on my blog entries. You can write about anything you desire, and prices start as low as $1 per word. If you are interested, contact me. Though I’m trying to be sarcastic, this may actually fly…maybe a stupid idea is never really a stupid idea after all!

The craze has already begun. Some guy has made a typo domain PixleLotto.com. The funny thing is I actually made a typo when I went to the original PixelLotto site, before I even heard of this guy. So he might actually gain something. Someone also has the Ferrari Pixel Project….and the battle continues!
