ABDC, tough call with Distorted X

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

I just had the time this weekend to watch my DVR recording of America’s Best Dance Crew. It was just yesterday I posted about the Dance craze going on.

First off, I think the bottom 5 really should have been the top 5, just like ‘lil Mama said. The bottom 5 performed their heart out. But the votes were already in and the bottom two ended up being Fanny Pak and Distorted X. This was very disappointing, and I know how the judges must have felt. It must have been a very tough call for them on Distorted X. Those two should not have been in the bottom to begin with. Personally, I think SassX7 should have got the boot.

On another note, I have to give kudos to Super Cr3w, I thought they had the best performance of the night. Phresh Select is also up there and Fanny Pak is definitely slept on. America, please get it right next week.

Dance, Dance, Dance…Japanese group U-Min have swag

Lately, the whole world is going dance crazy…and so am I. Music is good for the soul and dancing is a good way to stay fit and active while having fun. If that is not a good enough reason for you, especially the fellas, ladies appreciate a guy who can groove.

There are so many TV shows these days dedicated to dancing — So you think you can dance, dancing with the stars, America’s Best Dance Crew, Dance this, Dance that, this Dance, that Dance etc….it’s all over the place. It’s even rubbing off on the movie industry.

This year has brought out many hot dance tracks that make you wanna move hard: Lil Mama - Get Loose, Ne-Yo - Closer, Kat DeLuna - Whine Up, Pit Bull - The Anthem (Calibria Remix), Flo Rida - Low and Elevator…just to name a few. Of them all, Missy Elliott’s Ching-A-Ling is probably the hottest right now on heavy rotation. It’s one thing to have a sick song, but complementing it with a sick video, shows the skill of a true genius.

Missy Elliott’s Ching-A-Ling is almost like a track dedicated to dance crews. There were so many dance crews in this videos, it’s bananas. Their skill level is way beyond the average dancer. The dance crew that caught my eye were the four Japanese dudes doing the popping moves. I did some research on them and found out the name of the group is U-Min. These guys are Japanese Poppers. Their moves are insane, to say the least.

For a treat of what these guys are capable of, watch the “U-Min Routine” below:
