Dance, they can…for Sara and Jesus

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

I was watching “So you think you can dance” last night, when the opening act was about to begin. The first performance was by Sara and Jesus, dancing to the tune of The Game - It’s Okay (one blood). The dance routine and choreography was absolutely amazing. Their steps were so on point, and delivered a truly entertaining performance. Most of the performances last night were good, but I thought these two really stood out, especially Sara. Just see the video for yourself, her movement is so quick and precise. You could just see the comfort level while she was dancing. The performance was the hottest of the night in my honest opinion. Watch the clip below:

UPDATE: OMG, Sara and Jesus were in the bottom three tonight. This is beyond outrageous. Even worse is the fact that Jesus was the one to go home….wtf!

The Pizza - Part 4

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

I’ve been too busy these days, I haven’t had much time to post anything. But here is a little something for now. I thought this was a pretty funny video from Jimmy Kimmel. They made a Parody of R Kelly’s “Trapped in a Closet”. I believe there are like 5 parts or so, you can watch the rest on YouTube.

Microsoft Surface Computer

Friday, June 1st, 2007

This news has been out for a couple of days now about the recent announcement from Microsoft about the Surface computer. Traditional touch screens allow only 1 input at a time, whereas the Surface Computer uses Multi-touch technology as input. Hence, it recognizes the use of multiple finger movements and manipulation, which allows for some serious interfacing. Apple has demonstrated this sort of technology already with the iPhone, but Microsoft has taken this to another level by showing how the surface table is also able to react to physical objects, such as their Zune and a digital camera. That is some serious technology. Here is the video below.

On another note, when I first saw the Surface Computer, I was very impressed with the technology itself, but not so impressed as to how this coffee table looking thing could really be used efficiently in the real world. It just sort of looked like something mostly for entertainment. But then, someone mentioned a scenario that struck me which I never really thought of. A real killer application with this device would be a virtual Audio/Video Mixing board. I used to work in Audio Production and can totally see this working. Think about the ability to used the Surface Computer to mix your audio, slide faders, turn knobs, push buttons, edit Channel inputs quickly, add more Channels on the fly as needed. In that sense, this would totally change the Production industry and will sell indeed. Those who have used the virtual DAWs such as Cubase, Sonar, Logic etc can relate to how painful it is to use the on screen mixers. The other thing that came to my mind for the application is to even be able to pull out a virtual MIDI keyboard on the screen and play/record audio and edit WAV files using finger movements. If someone is able to port such as application with the Surface Computer, that really would be a killer App.

Jeff Han, who has literally dedicated his life to researching this technology had a working prototype a while back. Here is a video from that presentation.
