Have too much time to burn?…try LineRider

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I found this game a while back called LineRider, which was pretty cool. Some days ago, my friend sends me the link to it with an updated version. The aim of the game is quite simple, but you would be surprised the sort of creative ideas that can come out of this game. All you have to do is pretty much draw lines that maps out the path of the LineRider’s sled. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Now try playing it yourself, then watch the video below and then come back to tell me how you feel. Inspired yet?

Imeem, share your music

Monday, February 26th, 2007

A couple of days ago when I wrote about the songs “Crazy Kiya Re” and “Buddy”, I wanted to stream MP3 versions of the songs easily on each post. When I google’d them both, the top result took me to a site called Imeem. So, I then ventured to find out more about them. Imeem allows users to upload songs to their playlists and share with others as well. Due to the fact that it’s a user-driven network, their is a vast variety and list of songs…from old to new. What I really like about Imeem is the clean look of the site and efficient search system they have. When the results of a search displays, you can get a quick preview of the song thru the play button next to each search result. This allows you to verify the song you are looking for.

As per all the legality issues related to the upload/sharing of all these songs….that’s a whole other story for another day in another post. Like most startups in this field of sharing, the legal ramifications are often ignored due to the fact that they are still at their embryo stage, and too little to worry about. Moreover, there are so many of these site on the web to keep track of…they can’t all get sued. If you do bring one down, another one will rise. But as soon as they start to grow and generate some kind of substantial revenue, things will surely change. Record labels and media giants will surely be after their asses and begin all the “cease and desist” she-bang.

Boston Market is the truth!

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

The other day, a friend told me about Boston Market. She really raved about how good it was…meanwhile I wasn’t too excited, since all the while I was thinking it’s an actual market. Finally we go there and I realize it’s a restaurant. It’s not like a high end formal spot, or a fast food joint either. It’s a nice place to dine/take-out with well-made, healthy and good food. The menu was really good, and the prices were phenomenal. First time, we got the “Turkey Meal for 4″ which came with sliced turkey strips with choice of 4 sides (we got corn, stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans). We ate till we were stuffed and still had left over for the next 2 days…amazing! The order also came with 4 corn bread. I have started to make this one of my regular food spots to visit when I’m around town. Like my friend said, Boston Market is the truth!

Buddy, Musiq is back!

Monday, February 19th, 2007

‘Tis this weekend when I was lounging in my living room and relaxing. I tuned in to VH1 Soul, listening to some nice Soul music. Out of no where Musiq’s video comes up….the beat got my attention right away. Even better, the lyrical flow and arrangement in this song is just beyond description. There are a lot of songs I’ve been digging these days, but this has got to be one of the best songs of 2007. Musiq totally nailed this track. Fortunately, his new album LUVANMUSIQ, should be out sometime in March, I’ll be on the lookout for this one and so should you.

Listen to the song below:

Crazy Kiya Re…sexy lady on the floor

Friday, February 16th, 2007

Oh boy, I have been looking for this track forever. There is this Desi restaurant called Bukhara Grill, I go to in Jersey like literally every night. Yes I’m lazy, so I dine out with my usual order of Chicken Sharabi Kababi with naan or mixed Fried rice. You should check it out, this place is top notch. I’m known there pretty well these days.

Anyway, whenever I go in, I watch the TV on the B4U channel where they play this song that always gets my attention, but I never had a single clue what the name of the track was. This went on and on. Finally I ask my buddy if he knew what song I was talking about…but he didn’t. When we went after that, they never played it at the moment anymore. It still bothered me how to get a hold of the song.

Funny enough tonite, my buddy was just listening to some random online playlist of songs…and out of the speakers of his laptop, I hear that familiar beat and tune!! Yes at last, I found the song…and it’s called “Crazy Kiya Re” by Dhoom 2. Enjoy!
