Eat your heart out at Longhorn

When I used to pass by Longhorn, I often noticed the tag line “Steakhouse”. I thought to myself, probably another restaurant with mostly steak meals, fries and the typical. The first time I went into Longhorn, I was immediately impressed with the atmosphere. This is one of those few restaurants I like for the air circulation. It is properly aired so that you don’t feel too choked with so much food smell.
Now the menu. The list and variety of meals were impressive, with things like ribs, chicken, shrimp, rice, mashed potatoes and of course steak. For starters, I had these Buffalo Chicken bits that came with a white creamy sauce. This was the best appetizer I have ever had. For most of the other restaurants I’ve been to, I often have soup/salad with bread for starters. But this Buffalo Chicken bits were just perfect. For main course, I’ve tried the Sierra Chicken and the Grilled Shrimp, both with Rice and vegetables. The food is absolutely tasty, and the chicken is extra juicy. One thing I really love about their main course is the portion of food. They give you just the right portion. A lot of restaurants tend to stuff your plate as if you were a pig, but not Longhorn. As for the desert, I’ve had the Chocolate Stampede and the Molten Chocolate. WARNING: 1 order of Chocolate Stampede is good enough for 4-6 people. Both deserts were awesome, but the Molten Chocolate is a better desert. The cake for the Molten Chocolate is lighter than that of the Chocolate Stampede. Also, the mixture of the hot chocolate inside the cake and the cold ice cream on the side, produces a warm tantalizing desert.
All I can say is that you need to visit Longhorn once in your lifetime. I’ve been there a couple of times now. Although I can’t say for sure about all the locations, since the only one I went to was in Middleboro, MA. But if they all have the same standard, then all is well for me!
P.S. The people of New England are such warm people!
I think I’ve mentioned a lot that my job needs me to move around quite often. Due to this fact, I have the privilege of dining out a lot and get exposure to a lot of restaurants that I probably would not go to. For a while now, I have eaten at the
The other day, a friend told me about Boston Market. She really raved about how good it was…meanwhile I wasn’t too excited, since all the while I was thinking it’s an actual market. Finally we go there and I realize it’s a restaurant. It’s not like a high end formal spot, or a fast food joint either. It’s a nice place to dine/take-out with well-made, healthy and good food. The menu was really good, and the prices were phenomenal. First time, we got the “Turkey Meal for 4″ which came with sliced turkey strips with choice of 4 sides (we got corn, stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans). We ate till we were stuffed and still had left over for the next 2 days…amazing! The order also came with 4 corn bread. I have started to make this one of my regular food spots to visit when I’m around town. Like my friend said, Boston Market is the truth!
